Casamigos – George Clooney’s Tequila Company sold to Diageo in a $1 Billion Deal

George Clooney has been nominated more than 30 times for Academy and other prestigious awards. But the $1 Billion deal for his Tequila company with Diageo is a whole new high for him and his partner in this company, Rande Gerber.

Rande Gerber, a former American model and now a well established industry businessman with the Gerber Group, operates chains of nightlife companes and establishments across the United States of America. His biggest home run thus far has to be with Gerber Spirits ( Part of the Gerber Group) on a joint venture with George Clooney to craft a designer Tequila company which could be consumed well with minmal hangover. The spirit they crafted with this intention did hit the sweet spot they set out make in the first place. Not only that, the company quickly caught attention and respect which spiked the revenues in a sweliing positive trend over the last few years.

The time was right for the London based alcoholic beverages giant Diageo to take notice of the fine product and offer a billion dollar deal for the company and it’s bright future with their revolutionary Tequila. The deal breakup consists of a $700 millon as an initial payment and $300 million dollar over the next ten years in slotted installments based on the performance of the product, which is very promising.

George Clooney said in an email to CNBC, “If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes. This reflects Diageo’s belief in our company and our belief in Diageo. But we’re not going anywhere. We’ll still be very much a part of Casamigos. Starting with a shot tonight. Maybe two.”

George and Amal Clooney had two beautiful twins, Ella and Alexandre, earlier this month which also makes him a proud father at this time. We are sure that the “5am” binges with almost no hangovers and his hands full as a new dad, this deal would bring him the much needed support to keep him centred and focussed.

We wish Rande Gerber and him, “All the best!” for a bright and exciting decade at Casamigos.
